By Nicholas Kigondu
This year’s Correctional Service Week will kick off tomorrow in an event that will see participants share experience and ideas on technology and green solutions.
Under the theme, Transforming Correctional Services through Technology and Green Solutions, the fourth edition of the conference will run from October 13th –15th, 2026.
According to Correctional Services Principal Secretary Dr. Salome Beacco, the event, which will conclude with a gala dinner honoring top-performing correctional institutions and practitioners, will seek to provide ideas on how to enhance ongoing reforms targeting Kenya’s correctional system.
Among areas of discussion will be efforts realized in digitizing services, embracing clean and sustainable energy, and climate-smart agriculture within correctional facilities as well as the adoption of innovative technologies and strategies meant to enhance efficiency and sustainability.
This according to the PS is meant to transform correctional facilities into centers of excellence in renewable energy and modern technology.
