CORRECTIONAL SERVICES PS HOLDS MEETING WITH SENIOR PAC OFFICERS

By Nicholas Kigondu
Staff working at the Probation and Aftercare Service have been challenged to sustain gains realized in the administration of justice, public protection and community safety.
Speaking during a monthly progress report meeting with senior officers from Probation and Aftercare Service, Correctional Services Principal Secretary Dr. Salome Beacco said Probation and Aftercare remains an integral cog in the criminal justice system.
This even as she challenged the officers to remain customer focused in the wake of increased number of offenders serving non-custodial sentences which currently stands at 59,753 persons.
She at the same time called for improved levels of professionalism saying the officers are representatives of the government.
“Let us show up in our places of work and produce the desired results. Let’s ensure we are productive members of the society for the sake of future generations.” Implored the PS.
Among those present was Probation and Aftercare Service Secretary Dr. Christine Obondi.
