Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi has pledged the government’s commitment to support families of uniformed officers killed in the line of duty.

Speaking at the National Police College Embakasi “A’ Campus during a commemorative service for fallen national police and Kenya prions service officers, Mudavadi said the government remains ready to improve the welfare of security officers including families of those who have lost their lives while in active duty.

“As a government, we reaffirm our unwavering commitment to enhancing the welfare and working conditions of our officers and their families. Key initiatives include providing decent housing, improving medical services, and offering counseling to those facing mental or social challenges. “He assured.

He said part of the plan include the move to consider qualified members of the families of those killed in line of duty during recruitment as well as the establishment of a Veterans Endowment Fund whose process of legislation is underway.

State Department for Correctional Services Principal Secretary Dr. Salome Beacco, who was among those who graced the occasion, said the solemn occasion was a powerful reminder of the bravery and selflessness of the officers who paid the ultimate price to ensure that Kenya remained safe.

“Let us bind ourselves together with a new bond of service to make our country brighter, safer, and more hopeful and, in so doing, let us honor the memory of our fallen heroes every day.” She said.

According to Interior and National Administration Principal Secretary Dr. Raymond, the sacred tradition was a bond for the country in remembrance of the brave men and women who paid the ultimate price in defense of the nation's peace and stability.

“As we pay homage to their memories, we are reminded of the selflessness of those still in service, standing as sentinels at the gates of our security. Let us remain unwavering in our support for these gallant officers who risk everything to protect us.”  observed the PS.

Twenty-nine officers, including 18 from the Kenya Police, ten from the Administration police and one from the Kenya Prisons Service, were honored during the celebrations.
