The State Department for Correctional Services has strengthened partnerships with key anti-graft bodies as part of its strategy to slay the ghost of corruption.
Speaking when she received a system review report on Probation and Aftercare Service (PACS) from the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission, Principal Secretary Dr. Salome M. Beacco said the efforts are part of a deliberate plan to enhance integrity and efficiency at the state department.
She said the report, authored by the antigraft body, provides critical insights that will offer best options to mitigate issues of corruption in the department.
This even as she lauded EACC for its efforts in the fight against graft which she said have gone a long way in ensuring enhanced integrity in the management of public resources.
EACC Vice Chairperson Dr. Monica Muiru emphasized the need to take personal initiatives to curb incidences of corruption highlighting that it is a collective responsibility.
The PS at the same time acknowledged the efforts of the European Union (EU) and the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) who supported the compilation of the report.
