The State Department for Correctional Services is among ministries, departments, agencies, and county governments participating at this year’s Africa Public Service Day 2025 celebrations at the Kenyatta International Convention Centre.

The Kenya Prisons Service and the Probation and Aftercare Service, are representing the State Department at the three-day event spearheaded by the Ministry of Public Service, Human Capital Development and Special Programmes.

Under the theme, Enhancing the agility and resilience of public institutions to achieve equitable governance and rapidly address historical service delivery gaps, the showcase is meant to underline innovation as a key lever for equity, inclusion, and institutional renewal

The presence of the two technical arms of the State Department at the event highlights the department’s dedication to improving correctional services and promoting community reintegration, rehabilitation, and restorative justice.

Dr. Jane Kere, Principal Secretary for the State Department of Public Service and Human Capital Development, was among those who visited various exhibition stands, including that of the Probation and Aftercare Service.

The exhibition showcases how the correctional services are leveraging innovation and creativity to address service delivery gaps and promote equitable governance. The department’s participation aligns with the broader goal of celebrating public service as a cornerstone of sustainable development and national progress.
