By Nicholas Kigondu
The State Department for Correctional Services is partnering with other state agencies to align its services with the government's digital transformation agenda.
A meeting between technical teams from the State Department and Konza Technopolis resolved to work closely to promote transparency and enhance rehabilitation efforts.
While pledging his organization’s support for the department’s digital transformation agenda, Konza Technopolis Chief Executive Officer John Paul Okwiri said Konza Technopolis provides an avenue for government agencies to digitalize by developing local solutions through innovations based on existing challenges.
Secretary Administration at the State Department for Correctional Services Sammy Kioko said the partnerships present the best opportunity yet for the country to move to the next level of technological development.
Okwiri said his organization will be offering support to the State Deportment as it moves to implement the Integrated Correctional Management Information System (ICMIS), a digital platform that seeks to modernize offender management.
The system aims to streamline records, improve service delivery, and enhance inter-agency collaboration by digitizing case management, incident reporting, and data analytics.
